Our 5 core pillars

Our education and outreach work is organised around five complementary pillars. Together they connect formal learning, institutions, public galleries, communities, and scholarly research with Frank Bowling’s life and work.

Enhancing formal education

We actively enrich learning experiences across primary, secondary and tertiary education by creating resources and workshops, integrating Bowling’s work into school curriculums and academic discourses.

We do this by:

  • Creating schemes of work that teachers can download and use in their classroom
  • Holding workshops, lectures and artist-led sessions
  • Aiding study visits and collaborative projects with schools and higher education

Building institutional partnerships

We establish and maintain long-term relationships with educational institutions including nurseries, post-16 education and universities. This includes:

  • CPD for teachers and lecturers
  • Resource development and distribution
  • Collaborative research and academic exchange
  • On-site and virtual visits

Supporting museums and galleries

We work with museums and galleries by collaborating with education departments to create enriching resources to support current exhibitions and public programmes that feature Bowling’s work. This includes:

  • Collaborations with regional, national, and international institutions
  • Exhibition interpretation materials
  • Public talks, tours, and educational events

Community engagement and access

We foster meaningful connections with local and global communities to encourage a deeper understanding and appreciation of contemporary art.

Our approach:

  • Regular outreach programmes and workshops
  • Partnerships with community groups and art clubs
  • Inclusive and accessible learning initiatives
